Setup of Compton polarimeters for measuring entangled annihilation photons

Abstract An experimental setup for studying the Compton scattering of annihilation photons in various (entangled and decoherent) quantum states is presented. Two entangled γ -quanta with an energy 511 keV mutually orthogonal polarizations are produced by positron-electron a thin aluminum plate emitted opposite directions. To measure both photons, provides two equivalent arms polarimeters. A polarimeter consists plastic scintillation scatterer array NaI(Tl) detectors measuring deflected at angle 90°. The intermediate GAGG scintillator SiPM readout inserted into one to create tagged decoherence process prior measurement performance scatterers counters discussed. polarization modulation factor analyzing power polarimeters evaluated from angular distributions scattered gammas. decoherent compared reliably first time.
